Torrside Monsters 'Grendel' Imperial London Porter 9.5% 500ml

This boozy porter belongs to Torrside’s ‘Monsters’ range of strong ‘partigyle’ beers, a group of beers derived from a single mash, each treated differently to create distinct characters. Grendel began with the Stockport Beer and Cider Festival 2025 homebrew competition. The Stout and Porter category winner was Jon Britton’s 19th century-inspired London porter ‘Beowulf’. As the winner, Jon got to brew ‘Beowulf’ with Torrside. Then came Grendel - an imperialised version. It pours a rich black body with a beige head. On the nose and tongue are roasted coffee, dark chocolate, fig, molasses, and a crisp bitter finish.
