Such a fantastic range of … Well, almost anything you can think to drink. Independent beers, wines, whisky - and such knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Cracking wine, beer and spirits shop. I work in wine myself and was really impressed with the range and the staff. Super helpful, knowledgable and nice. Buy your wine/beer/spirits here and support this fantastic independent business.

What a place! I’ve taken advantage of the monthly subscription which is fab and certainly well worth the money!

Exceptional drinks for exceptional people

Stefan - owner of High Peak Wine and Beer Co

Stefan's pick of the month

The first few months of the year are always a busy (and very enjoyable) time in the wine world, as retailers and wholesalers refresh their ranges. I’ve been hard at work tasting a host of new bottles (purely in the name of research, of course) and I’m delighted to say that some real standouts have now arrived.

This latest selection brings together some exceptional finds, with a strong showing from the ever-reliable Languedoc, still one of the world’s best sources of outstanding value. Alongside these you’ll discover a few underappreciated gems, including characterful Spanish reds from Navarra, elegant Pinot Noir from Romania, and even a brilliantly priced orange wine for the more adventurous palate.

Our new Pick of the Month case is designed as a shortcut to discovering great wine. Personally selected and thoroughly enjoyed along the way! Inside, you’ll find six distinctive, high-quality bottles that offer something a little different from the everyday supermarket selection.

To make things even more tempting, this case is available with 15% off, an even better saving than our usual in store 10% discount on six bottles. It’s a great way to explore the range, and we hope it inspires enough confidence to try one of our monthly or quarterly subscriptions, which you’ll find in the “Wine Cases” section on our homepage - All Wine Cases

Xavier Roger GSM (Languedoc) - Classic grape mix of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre offering juice, structure and bass notes in that order.

Transhumante Garnacha (Navarra) - Straight up juicy Grenache from Spain's own great value region of Navarra. Plenty of body and red fruit/strawberry bootlace flavour

Lautaral Pinot Noir (Romania) - A wine I've know for many years now as I used to sell it for my previous employers. If your perception of Eastern European wine needs changing for the better, this will do it.

Life Gives You Oranges (Languedoc) - Orange Wine doesn't usually come cheap but this one is great fun and super value with notes of satsuma and melon. Made entirely from grapes, not citrus fruit!

Peewit Sauvignon Gris (Gascogne) - A more exotic derivative of Sauvignon Blanc with an extra kick of grapefruit. Very refreshing but not overdone in this example, won't make your mouth pucker!

Coquille De Mer Vermentino (Languedoc) - Vermentino is always a touch of class for the more discerning palate with subtle green almond notes adding complexity to a softly citrussy character
