Cloudwater brewery was founded in Manchester in 2014, and brewed their first beers in 2015. It was founded by Paul Jones, who had no prior experience in the brewing industry, and James Campbell, formerly the head brewer at Marble brewery. In 2017 and 2018, Cloudwater was named the fifth best brewery in the world by beer scoring website RateBeer, becoming the first UK brewery ever to be featured at this level.
