What is Mead? Mead is an alcoholic drink of fermented honey and water! However, not all meads are created in the same manner. Known as the drink of the Gods and in modern memory, associated with the Vikings, mead is now also produced using base alcohol, white wine or sugar syrup, with honey added at a later stage.

Mead is increasingly popular and akin to cider and perry as an alcoholic beverage produced since ancient times all over the UK. The history is fascinating and still being made today as we feature new wave craft meads from tiny producers alongside more traditional honey and fruit meads.
