Wire Works Port Cask Derbyshire Single Malt Whisky 50.2% 70cl

Marking 8 years of production at one of England's leading whisky distilleries this is the latest addition to White Peak Distillery's 'Provenance' core range trio of whiskies along side the Caduro and Bourbon Barrel editions. Wire Works Derbyshire Single Malt Whisky is no stranger to Port Casks. There were 3 prototypes (should that be Porto-types?) before this edition entered the core range. Those were the now very rare and collectable Double Port, Full Port and LBV Port editions. Indeed, the distillery claims a strong preference for Port maturation over sherry. The round red fruit flavours trace a continuation in style from the flagship Caduro (aged in recharred red wine barrels) and compliments the naturally fruit forward new makes spirit achieved with brewers yeast and long fermentation times. A hint of smoke is present as always in Wire Works peated to roughly 7ppm.
