Sancerre Domaine Roblin Enclos de Maimbray 13% 75cl

The Enclos de Maimbray is a single vineyard on Portlandian clay and Kimmeridgian chalk. High density planting of 7000 vines per hectare and average vine age of 25 years brings wine with great intensity. Yield between 50 and 60 hectolitres per hectare. Light fining and filtration before bottling. Gentle pneumatic press followed by settling before temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel at 15-20°C for 3 weeks. Kept on fine lees for 6 months with periodic lees stirring to provide body and texture.

A complex single vineyard Sancerre from old vines. Notes of fresh citrus, blackcurrant leaf, a fine minerality and a lighlty chalky texture lead into a long, quite rounded finish. Full of flavour, well structured with an impression of richness yet it still retains a charming elegance.
