Lochlea Single Malt Whisky Cask Strength Batch 3 59.8% 70cl

The third in a series of annual limited-edition bottlings. Batch 3 of Lochlea's annual Cask Strength release offers yet another bold and distinctive take. Their Master Blender has carefully selected a combination of Oloroso Sherry Butts and Ex-Islay Peated Casks, creating a whisky that balances richness and depth with a surprising twist of smoke. The nose opens with juicy, ripe red fruits, and savoury BBQ smoke. On the palate, cherries, ripe berries, and dark molasses are lifted by warming ginger cake, toasted rye, and charred wood smoke. The finish is long and complex, with baking spice, salty smoke, and oaky tannins intertwining with delicate floral notes of red roses.
