Orval beer is characterized by a high fermentation process and a ripening time that give it its complex and fruity taste, subtle harmony between roundness and bitterness.

Since 1931, it owes its incomparable taste to the quality of its water, hops and yeasts. It is based on specific varieties of highly flavoured hops, which are linked to orval's first master brewer, originally from Bavaria. And its raw English hop method gives it a diversity of aromas while maintaining its level of bitterness.

Its different fermentation moments - combined fermentation, with the original yeast and with wild yeast, then closing in the bottle - require a significant maturation time and many quality controls.
