Battle Pug (2025) belongs to Torrside’s 'Dogs of War' range of barrel-aged beers. An American barleywine brewed in 2021 has been maturing in an ex-sherry Islay whisky barrel for this release. It pours black-brown, and is unctuous and sweet as is typical of a Barleywine. The barrel-aging has imparted deep and complex flavours, with smokiness courtesy of the Islay whisky, dried fruit character from the sherry, and subtle oakiness from the barrel itself.
